Heritage Open Days is your
chance to visit free thousands of buildings and places across England which are
usually closed to the public or charge admission. To find out what‘s on in this area go to www.heritageopendays.org.uk. An excellent leaflet, produced
by The Kingston upon Thames Society, is available in church or in local
libraries, giving details of the 32 sites open in Kingston.
St.
John's will be taking part in this event, with Pat Lovegrove and her
welcoming band of stewards at the Church to meet and greet visitors at
the following times
Thursday 6th and
Friday 7th: 11.00am – 4.00pm
Saturday 8th: 10.00am – 5.00pm Sunday 9th: 2.00pm – 5.00pm

On Sunday 9th there will also be a Heritage Walk at 2.00pm from St. John’s. This will be a 1.5km exploration of the
Domesday village of Malden and its ancient meadows putting it into historical
context. Hear about its connection with
Merton College Oxford; see where the artist Sir John Millais painted the background
to Ophelia.
