WHEN THE MEN MET……………..

They met - those men with that nostalgia for steam – joined by those who wanted to find out what it was all about. There was ‘I’m always travelling’ Roger – the reclusive Broadmead Gardener who probably knows more about a 4-6-2 than the vegetable plot! – ‘our source of information’ Tony – I’ve got a screwdriver Brian – ‘Guarding the teapot’ Derek – ‘bookkeeping was really my business’ David – ‘N gauge John - keeper of the side rota’ – ‘just one more please’ snapper John - Mike ‘ the F1 warden’ and holiday lads ‘ we know more about trains’ Jack – Sean – Alex – and Franklin. This was the first meeting of a men’s get together. A superb talk by Ken on the building of a model garden railway – a chance to have a cuppa, a chat with fellow parishioners. Next meeting is hoped to be in May – watch this space and the pew leaflet for more information. Rumour has it that we will be treated to a short talk on ‘Oil’ - sounds interesting.

Well if the women can sit round and crochet, why shouldn't the men play with their trains.
