This is a woman ...

Okay; she's also a woman bishop and a woman archbishop, for that matter. The Most Revd Katharine Jefferts Schori is Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America (our sister Church in the USA). She was preaching at the Cathedral this Sunday and at least one member of St John's was there to hear her. Women Bishops, huh? Could it catch on here?

PS. It was revealed later that Bishop Katharine was asked by Lambeth Palace not to wear her mitre ate the service - probably so that people who don't like the idea of women bishops could pretend that she wasn't one. So she carried it instead; you can see it tucked under her arm.

Why Not?

....Or was it because women no longer wear hats in church!
