Planning application

I was sent this by a member of St John's.

Although this is just outside the Parish boundary people in the Grafton Road area might want to consider this planning application.

Granny Mo

Our good friends at the Surrey Comet ran a super story about our own Maureen Hawkins - Granny Mo.

You can read the article here.

Introducing Beata

Beata Moore
is a local photographer who will be working in and around St John's over the next year. This will be a fascinating project, and we are looking forward to seeing her results.

You can find some of Beata's work HERE.

Lord God our Father,
we pledge ourselves to serve you in serving all people:
in the cause of peace with justice and for the relief of want,
fear and suffering.
Direct us by your Holy Spirit;
that we may become rich in wisdom, courage, and hope;
and keep us faithful to this pledge:
for the glory of your Name,
for our good, and the good of all people. Amen.

People care about the churchyard

Whatever else you hear, people care about St John's Churchyard.
Here's one example.

Paul Pearce has taken it on himself to maintain the War Graves we are privileged to have. Well done Paul!

Mental Health Sunday
9 October 2011
A time for prayer
5.00pm
St John’s, Old Malden

1 in 4 people in the UK are directly affected by mental illness.
Many more people – those who live with the 1 in 4 - are also affected.

This short and quiet service is for people from both groups.

Music, silence, readings, prayer
an opportunity to bring to God our experience of mental illness,
and to pray for all who are affected by it.
