On Education Sunday we were very pleased to have Susan Pavlis, Headteacher of Malden Parochial School, as our preacher.

A new leader for the MU

At its AGM on Valentine’s Day, St John’s Mothers Union thanked Jill Barker for all her work  Branch Leader. Her successor, Janet Jeal, presented her with a rose bush as a token of our gratitude.

At the same meeting Beth Owen was thanked for her work as Branch Treasurer. She is succeeded by Patricia Sutton.

Our Scout & Guide Band spent last weekend at their annual training camp in Gilwell Park, Chingford. After a day of marching and music practice on Saturday everyone was thrilled to wake up in the middle of a winter wonderland on Sunday morning!!

Two new Bishops

We have two new Area Bishops in the Diocese of Southwark.

The Venerable Dr Michael Ipgrave will be the new Bishop of Woolwich,

and the Revd Jonathan Clark will be the new Bishop of Croydon.
