Two x 100

Two St John's people completed the Prudential 100 today.

Andy Down, riding for Kings College Hospital, finished in an amazing 5:47

The Vicar, riding for the Mothers Union, took a little longer
(and blames it on not having shaved his legs this year)

Heave Ho Me Hearties!

Mothers’ Union Outing

It rained through almost the entire trip.  Were we downhearted?  Of course not.

We went along the river Wey in a horse drawn barge.  The beautiful horse was called Buster.

The scenery was beautiful and a cream tea helped us forget the rain.

Of course, at the end of the trip the rain stopped but a good time was had by all

Buster seemed happy, too.

Busy Busy Bees

Some of the activities of our industrious Mothers Union.  God Bless Them.

John Williams, having made an excellent job of repairing the vestry gate, is here renovating the main gates at the front of the church.

Today we admitted Faith and Virginia as members of our MU. We also gave long service certificates and gifts to Joyce, Beth, Monica and Jill.

They get about a bit

Here is a photo of a happy band of Mothers' Union members with partners and friends having a lovely day out to Chichester and Boshum Harbour.  As you can see, a great time was had by all.

MU Outing

Our jolly band of Mothers Union members boarded their coach on Tuesday morning for a visit to Canterbury Cathedral. Some people braved the heat to explore the cobbled streets of Canterbury, whilst others enjoyed a guided tour of the Cathedral. (Did you know that the bones of Thomas Beckett disappeared at some time, and no-one knows where his remains are now - no - nor did I).

A good time was had by all .................

Mothers Union Outing 2013

Members of  MU and their husbands and wives enjoyed their annual outing to the Meon Valley in Hampshire last Tuesday. The sun was shining , the countryside was stunning and the towns of Bishop’s Waltham and Alresford were delightful.  I think we can safely say a good time was had by all looking at the beaming faces.

Happy Trippers

In the Vicarage Garden ...

... well, not quite the garden. But the drizzly June weather didn't dampen the spirits of the MU Garden Party, neatly transferred to the Vicarage lounge.
