Summer Concert

Then after the Community celebrations at the Maeldune Fayre on Saturday, there was the added treat of the Kingston and Malden Scout and Guide Band Summer Concert in the evening.

They were brilliant and as a certain family member remarked," every year they get better and better".

Spring Concert

You don't know what you missed.............

The wonderful, amazing, talented young people in the Kingston and Malden Scout and Guide Band put on a virtuoso performance on Saturday night.  Their arrangement of  James Bond Movie theme tunes had a definate "wow" factor.

Thank you for a great evening.

SCOUT & GUIDE BAND FLY THE FLAG FOR KINGSTON…………

A group of older members of the Kingston & Malden Scout & Guide Band headed over to the Isle of Wight last weekend 16/8, to take part in the Annual illuminated carnival parade in Shanklin.

With head torches, fluorescent scarves & t-shirts and coloured lights on instruments the Band took the lead in the Parade, which winds it's way through the seaside town for over an hour. Large crowds were entertained by the Band and cheered all the floats and marching groups as they passed by. August is carnival season on the Island with many of the towns hosting their own parades during the month.

The organisers of the Shanklin Carnival were pleased to welcome Kingston & Malden Band back to the town and are already looking forward to a repeat performance next year!"

Three Cheers for Alison

Congratulations to Alison on receiving the Silver Acorn Award.

This  is not normally awarded until after at least an Award for Merit has been gained and a further five years’ service has been completed. Thus, it is seldom awarded for less than 20 years service, which should be specially distinguished and appreciably better than outstanding.
