Congratulations to our Group Scout Leader - Tim – It has just been announced by the Chief Scout that Tim has been awarded the prestigious ‘Silver Acorn’ for ‘specially distinguished service’ Tim along with wife Alison have been invited to attend the Queen Scouts parade at Windsor Castle on St George’s Day. His dedication in scouting has taken him from knotty problems as a Cub Scout to that of Group Scout Leader. Problems – never – challenges yes – Sorry mate I just had to dig out the old family photo album!! Well done Tim - enjoy it.

FROM A KNOTTY PROBLEM TO A TOUCH OF SILVER……………..

Congratulations Tim!
I was very surprised to have been told I am to receive the Silver Acorn - I really don't feel old enough and don't feel I've done too much to deserve it, but I'm told by our leaders that it's all about management. I suppose it's been a bit of that which has allowed me to "stand down" since Christmas and see the strength and dedication of the 1st Old leadership team, and in particular Kay Gooud who has stood in for me as GSL, get on with continued and successful Scouting in Old Malden. Thank you all!
